The Academie Fracncaise du Chocolat and the Academie Culinaire Francais celebrated Ecuadorian Cacao in Quito. The Ecuador Ministry of Tourism hosted the event in their beautiful offices.

They have amazing views and a wrap around terrace.

Many important Chefs attended the event, including distinguished French Pastry Chef Yves Thuries  Chef Thuries is a twice Meilleur Ouvrier de France, as well as a Chocolate Master.

I enjoyed seeing Chefs Jorge Naveda Guerra and Eliana Hadweh Zaidan again.  They combine Ecuadorian food in new ways and make wonderful creations.  Their presentation is excellent.

I tried native Ecuadorian tuna topped with a special chocolate sauce made of pure cacao. It’s an unlikely combination, but it is absolutely delicious.

Thank you to the Ecuador Ministry of Tourism for all of your lovely hospitality. I enjoyed meeting Ab. Carlos J. Larrea Cespo, Vice Minister of Tourism and to see Andre Obiol, Comisera Cadena Hotelera again.
